Floorplan readiness checklist

Use this before applying to reduce approval friction and prevent line tightening after activation.

Pre-application (30–60 days)

  • Inventory list matches DMS/stock log and physical units (no orphan units).
  • Sold log ties to payoffs with documented payoff timing.
  • Title desk owner assigned; title SLAs documented and tracked.
  • Bank accounts separated for dealership operations (clean statements).
  • Insurance agent understands floorplan collateral protection requirements.

Operational controls (weekly)

  • Aging review with exit rules at 45/60/90 days.
  • Exception review: title delays, missing keys, missing invoices.
  • Cash flow review: interest + curtailments vs gross.
Dealer tip: The fastest way to lose a floorplan line is repeated audit exceptions tied to titles or reconciliation gaps.
